Gemini Enter Key Control keeps Enter from sending before you finish your thought. Use Enter for new lines, then send with Shift+Enter by default—or choose Ctrl+Enter, Cmd+Enter, or Shift+Cmd+Enter.
How it works
Install the extension, then reload Gemini or another supported page once if it was already open. Use Enter for new lines and Shift+Enter to send by default. Open the extension popup to choose another send shortcut or turn Enter-key control on or off.

Keep line breaks and sending as separate actions. Send with Shift+Enter, Ctrl+Enter, Cmd+Enter, Shift+Cmd+Enter, or the shortcut you choose. The extension also helps prevent duplicate sends caused by long key presses.
Supported Google services
Works with Gemini, Gemini Notebook, Google Flow, Google Chat on the web, and Google Chat inside Gmail. Gemini Notebook supports both notebook.google.com and notebooklm.google.com. Inside Gmail, only Google Chat input fields are affected; email composition, reply, forwarding, subject, and search fields are not affected. Google Meet chat is not currently supported. Google Flow send-key control is currently supported on Windows.
Mac and IME-aware input
On Mac, choose Cmd+Enter or Shift+Cmd+Enter to send. IME-aware behavior is designed to avoid interfering with text conversion and confirmation in Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and other IMEs. IME behavior can vary by site and browser, so perfect prevention cannot be guaranteed in every environment.
Privacy and local processing
The extension does not collect, store, or send input or conversation content to external servers. Settings and keyboard behavior are processed locally in your browser, and the source code is published on GitHub.
Permissions for supported pages
Recent updates added support for Google Flow, Google Chat, and the new Gemini Notebook domain, so your browser may ask for new site permissions during an update. These permissions are used only to run Enter-key control on supported pages; the extension does not collect, store, or send your input or conversation content.

FAQ
What happens when I press Enter?
Enter inserts a new line instead of sending the message. You can send with Shift+Enter by default, or choose another shortcut such as Ctrl+Enter, Cmd+Enter, or Shift+Cmd+Enter.
What is the default send shortcut?
The extension is enabled by default, and the default send shortcut is Shift+Enter. You can change the shortcut or turn Enter-key control on or off from the extension popup.
Do I need to reload Gemini after installation?
If Gemini or another supported page was already open during installation or an update, reload it once so the extension can apply. After that, changes made from the extension popup are applied without a reload in most cases.
Can I use Cmd+Enter on Mac?
Yes. On Mac, you can choose Cmd+Enter or Shift+Cmd+Enter as your Gemini keyboard shortcut for sending. Google Flow send-key control is currently supported on Windows.
